A beautiful tranquil location around a lake close to the beach and amenities in Hervey Bay. The lake abounds in birdlife and turtles, and its a delight to watch them and feed them (with appropriate food - not bread). Our cabin was very comfortable and clean and we had a very enjoyable 6 night stay. Deb and Rod are very helpful. Hervey Bay is a great place to go whale watching and exploring Fraser Island, and Sanctuary Lakes is a great base for exploring. Thoroughly recommend. We'll be back.

My husband and I loved our stay there. Really nice cabin, well appointed, with a lovely outlook over the lake. So peaceful and quiet - a little oasis in suburbia. Feeding all the birds and turtles was a real highlight, and when you sit out on the verandah, it doesn’t take long for your new friends to arrive. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and we used the courtesy pickup buses to go whale watching and to the marina. Will definitely stay there again. Thanks Deb and Rod for a lovely stay.

We had the chance in our Australia tour to stop by Sanctuary lake. All the family was more than happy to discover this lovely place with birds turtles and such a nice area. It was quite and simple. Besides the welcomed advises and support we got by Feb and Rob that helps us for the attraction around and allowed to keep the room while we were at Fraser island was more than appreciated. Thanks.

Absolutely brilliant walking distance to everything very helpful staff on site laundry 200 mtr from beach can not recommend enough!!!!!!! Bbq facilities in between cabins very clean wild life in park characters on there own !!! Very child friendly.

Love the turtles and ducks wandering around, very peaceful. The rooms could do with a bit of an update. The owners are lovely, very friendly. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for having us.

Excellent staff, excellent place to stay and visit. Very clean and tidy place. Good to see the turtles and all the animals that are there. Good area to have a barbeque. Nice big pool area to lay around or to have a swim.

Always stay here when staying in Hervey Bay. The cabins are clean, comfortable and all overlook the lake which abounds with water birds, ducks and turtles. Convenient location close to shops, cafes and the hotel which is next door.

It was just what I needed , some back to nature relaxation , only bad thing was that it has to end and go back to reality always look forward to visiting. Staff are always more than willing to help me out.

Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Close to everything you could want or need. Great for families and couples. Highlight has always been to feed the ducks and turtles. Can walk to the water for a swim or picnic.
