There are 36 self-contained cabins set around a lake with lots of water birds and turtles. The cabins have different owners and a site manager who deals with the operation of the whole site.
The taxi from the airport took about 10 mins (cost around $20).
All the cabins face the water and have a small verandah on which to enjoy the view.
Despite being close to town the site feels like a remote location.
The site host was friendly and super helpful (as were the owners of some of the cabins).
Our cabin (28) was a little tired decor wise (a sea of magnolia) but spotlessly clean and in good working order.
There was air-conditioning and a ceiling fan.
As well as black tea and coffee, there were small packets of biscuits.
The walk to the sea front is level and easy. If you can find the back gate, you're a few metres from the Kondari Hotel, which has a bar, bistro and bottle shop.
There is a Woolworths within walking distance.
Cabins 27-30 are close to a playground and the pool, so a good choice for young families. The unfenced lake might not suit toddlers.
The Rooms were all you need for a short Break from Normality, Lovely Break Away. The Grandchildren loved the Wildlife even though they got a scare when the Turtles popped up for the first time, but out came the camera and I now have vast number of Photos of Turtles and Birds.
