If all you want to do is enjoy a nice peaceful break and disconnect from the world for a while, Sanctuary Lakes Fauna Retreat is the ideal location.
A beautiful tranquil location around a lake close to the beach and amenities in Hervey Bay. The lake abounds in birdlife and turtles, and its a delight to watch them and feed them (with appropriate food - not bread). Our cabin was very comfortable and clean and we had a very enjoyable 6 night stay. Deb and Rod are very helpful. Hervey Bay is a great place to go whale watching and exploring Fraser Island, and Sanctuary Lakes is a great base for exploring. Thoroughly recommend. We'll be back.
