Frequently Asked Questions
You don't need to bring much at all. We provide your linen and the kitchenette is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Just bring your clothing (remember a hat and sunscreen), through the warmer weather you may need insect repellant, food if you are staying a couple of days, though there are a lot of lovely cafes and restaurants nearby and anything else you need to enjoy a holiday.
Yes, we certainly can. Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast area have so much to see and do and our reception staff are happy to help you arrange tours and share information with you while you are here. Just ask - if they don't have it for you straight away, they will do their best to find it for you.
We get asked this one a lot. Would you believe we are only a 5 minute walk from the beach? That's right - you can park your car at the retreat and walk to the beach, cafes, supermarket, botanic gardens, even the Urangan Pier. We are a short drive to the airport and the marina.
Of course you can but our one big request is that you don't feed them bread. Did you know bread can kill our wildlife? Its not safe for them to eat and it can poison the waterways they live in. Ask at reception for things you can feed them safely. Remember though, they are still wild animals and it is important to let them come to you, not to chase after them.
As long as it fits through the front entrance, yes. We have had boat trailers come through the front gate with ease. It you are planning on bringing a boat, please mention it when you are booking so we can try to have your villa as close to your boat as possible. We do have plenty of room for parking though, so it won't be a problem.
As we are a fauna reserve and our property is full of wildlife, unfortunately we have to say no. We don't want pets chasing the wildlife or the wildlife chasing your pets. It could also be an issue with health of the animals, we don't know if our wildlife might have a disease that will effect your pet or if your pet might bring something into the retreat that will effect our wildlife. We do have contact details for some great pet sitters who will happily look after your fur babies nearby while you relax at the lake for a few days.
