I stayed here in January 2020. It was a lovely tranquil place, with lots of birds, ducks and turtles. The cabin was good, self contained and had a balcony overlooking the lake. It didnt matter whether it rained or whether it was sunny, it was just beautiful. So quiet yet only a short walk to the beach. One rainy day, I just sat on my balcony and watched the ducks and turtles for hours, it was so relaxing and interesting just to sit and watch nature... Would definately recommend.. Will be back - thank you!

Stayed 5 nights, beds good, kitchenette good, bathroom good, aircon great, shower head excellent, lovely and peaceful, nice little verandah to sit outside. A few minutes walk to the beach with parks, seating, toilets, and calm water. Excellent communications from owners. Having a laundry onsite was great too. Close to lots of places to have a drink and/or something to eat.

Whole place has a relaxed and happy feel. Plenty of room for boat parking. Walk through the back gate to a good hotel with excellent meals. Pool and gardens well cared for. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Will continue to stay here on our trips. Recommended.

Unexpected paradise, tucked away in beautiful Urangan. Single private cabins within the park with all the facilities you need. Lovely outlook over the lake from private deck where there was lots of wildlife (great place for families). Husband loved the turtles which came out of the water to be fed.

Stayed here a couple of times now, and slept like a log on both occasions. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, but still want to be close to some great dining and activities, this is the place for you. Private, roomy, friendly, and has a real down to earth feel about the place. You really get to switch off here, and get in touch with the bird and animal life at the resort. Very reasonably priced as well. We’ll be back.

The Sanctuary lakes resort is a wonderful place to have a break from all the hustle and bustle of a busy life. It's a great spot to connect with nature again! Lovely to watch and feed the water fowls and fresh water turtles! The self-contained units are comfortable and spacious with everything you need to have a great stay! I love the little verandah, where I could enjoy, looking across the lake, watching and listening to nature. The resort is a short walk from the beach and it's great to go for a walk and a swim along the esplanade! Also near the shops and fabulous restaurants.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at Sanctuary Lakes. This time we brought 10 people with us. The cabins are roomy and well equipped. Sitting on your own verandah and watching the multitude of birds and turtles in and around the lake is so relaxing. The new owners, Deb & Rod, bent over backwards to accommodate us all. There is a restaurant/pub very close by or you can do your own cooking, or barbecuing. The swimming pool is a nice a addition. We will definitely be back.

Deb and Rod were wonderful hosts. The cabins are very clean, beds are comfy and they have everything that you require for a weekend away. We had a large group of friends from our Meetup group booked in and it was a great place to stay. Will definitely be back.

This resort is a hidden gem. It has a lot to offer with fantastic views of the lake and the wildlife. It's a great spot to unwind and relax. The self contained rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Located within walking distance to the beach and restaurants.

A beautiful tranquil location around a lake close to the beach and amenities in Hervey Bay. The lake abounds in birdlife and turtles, and its a delight to watch them and feed them (with appropriate food - not bread). Our cabin was very comfortable and clean and we had a very enjoyable 6 night stay. Deb and Rod are very helpful. Hervey Bay is a great place to go whale watching and exploring Fraser Island, and Sanctuary Lakes is a great base for exploring. Thoroughly recommend. We'll be back.
