About Sanctuary Lakes Fauna Retreat

We are a small family run business – just 2 of us that work full time here at the Lake. Our villas are owned by individuals who entrust us to look after them on their behalf.

There are 36 self-contained cabins set around a lake with lots of water birds and turtles. All the cabins face the water and have a small verandah on which to enjoy the view. Despite being close to town the site feels like a remote location. The site host was friendly and super helpful. Our cabin (28) was spotlessly clean and in good working order. The walk to the sea front is level and easy. If you can find the back gate, you're a few metres from the Kondari Hotel, which has a bar, bistro and bottle shop. There is a Woolworths within walking distance. Cabins 27-30 are close to a playground and the pool, so a good choice for young families. The unfenced lake might not suit toddlers.
